Grade Parents (Room Parents)

Each classroom needs one or two Grade Parents each year. Sign-ups are usually at Back-to-School Night in the Fall. If you don't know who your Grade Parent is, ask your child's teacher. If you'd like to be a grade parent, contact us.

Emerson Event & Program Volunteers

All Emerson community events happen because of our wonderful volunteers!

Each event needs Event Chairs to organize and lead, plus many others to help out with smaller tasks -- from flipping pancakes at the Pancake Breakfast to setting up tables before the Welcome Back BBQ.

The Emerson PTA, which organizes these events and raises over $190,000 each year so our kids have Art & PE, also needs volunteers to lead our community. Look for information on how to join the PTA Board during the Spring.

In-person classroom volunteers are managed by the Berkeley Schools Volunteers. Ask your child’s teacher if you’re interested.

Library Volunteers

Contact the librarian to help out in the library.

CAL FOOTBALL PARKING FUNDRAISER VOLUNTEERS

The Emerson PTA offers a convenient parking option for Cal home football games. We need volunteers to help monitor the yard during games. Email parking@emersonelementary.org to volunteer. Come help for an hour or two or more!
