PTA FUNDRAISING

Colorful heart with different colors. There is a black bear cub inside the heart on the bottom right side of the heart.

The annual Heart of Emerson campaign is underway and this is your chance to show your support! With $53,200 donated, we are 30% of the way to our Heart of Emerson fundraising goal! Let’s keep the momentum going to ensure we can continue offering PE class for every grade, putting on school-wide events, sending students on educational field trips, providing support and supplies for teachers and staff, and so much more. Every dollar matters!

Your donation of $625 would match the funds allocated for a single student. Please give, knowing that some cannot, and give early so we can plan for the rest of the year.

Donate today and watch our progress thermometer climb! https://emersonelementary.org/heart-of-emerson

Donations are fully tax-deductible and eligible for employer matching gifts. Contact fundraising@emersonelementary.org with any questions. Thank you so much for your support of our community. Go, Emerson Bear Cubs!

ART CORNER

"Be Who You Are" -- Todd Parr Inspired Portraits

First Grade Artists used Todd Parr’s wonderful books as inspiration for this project. They started by drawing faces with bingo daubers filled with India ink. Next the artists used colored bingo daubers (AKA “dot markers”) to fill their imaginary faces with color. In art class we celebrate our differences!

There are a total of 8 boxes with 4 on top and 4 on the bottom. Each box contains a drawing of a face colored with bingo daubers (dot markers).

Art by Ms. Ames at the Albany Library

"A Walk in the Woods"

Paintings on display at the Albany Library Gallery

September 14th, 2024 through January 2, 2025

This is a picture of Ms. Ames (woman with blonde hair and glasses on) in front of paintings.

Emerson's art teacher, Ms. Ames, is currently having a show of her paintings at the Albany Community Center Gallery through the end of the year. It's called "A Walk in the Woods"  as she loves to celebrate the beautiful shapes of trees and plants in her work. The building, at 1249 Marin Avenue in Albany, is open 7 days a week (though if you want to visit the library, it is closed on Fridays.) If you go to the show, let Ms. Ames know--- she'd love to hear what your favorite piece was.
