Principal Message for Art Family Art Night

Thank you, Ms. Ames, for a wonderful Family Art Night!

For twenty years, we have appreciated the joy you bring to Emerson, and Friday evening was a huge success!

We appreciate the many volunteers who worked to make this night special.

Many families signed Ms. Ames' memory book? Stay tuned for more ways to show your appreciation to Ms. Ames and all our retirees, including Ms. Carter and Mrs. Hampton, this Spring!

Art Corner: A message from Ms. Ames

Another fabulous Family Art Night

Thank you for making my last Family Art Night so special. I did not know that my husband and best friend were going to come and have people sign notes for me, but they have been a treasure to read. Whether you walked up to me to say something or wrote in the book, I truly appreciate your kind words. I am going to miss Emerson so much! (And I'm still here until the last day, so it's not quite goodbye yet!)

We’re so sorry to everyone who missed Family Art Night because of the Eid holiday or the music camp conflict. We really value including everyone, and we'll do our best to check for these kinds of dates when scheduling next time.

A huge thank you to all who helped make the night a success. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped set up, kept track of what was going on at the various tables or helped clean up. A big thank you to my Family Art Night planning committee: Ariel Clute (on her 3rd or 4th year!), Daisy Holman and Katherine Bucar.... with an extra special thank you to Katherine who went above and beyond in so many ways.

And one more thank you to the PTA who has been supporting this wonderful family event since 2013.

READ-A-THON Update!

Emerson students. You are amazing readers! You read in pajamas, with stuffies, outside, inside, at home, and at school. Thank you for your fantastic efforts! And thank you, adults, for supporting our readers.

Don’t forget to use the Reading Log to record the minutes you read. Your classroom teacher will let you know how to turn in your reading log. Please make sure it’s turned in by Thursday, March 26th, to be eligible for the prizes. We’ll announce prize winners during the next All-School Meeting.

It’s not too late to collect donations for the Read-A-Thon! If you haven’t already, please visithttps://app.99pledges.com/fund/emersonele31 to find your student’s page. You can forward the link to your student’s page to friends and family far and wide!

MARCH IS ATTENDANCE CHALLENGE MONTH!

March madness attendance challenge image

So far, Emerson has an average daily attendance of 95%, exceeding Malcolm X and Oxford Elementary! However, we have a large number of students arriving after the 8:10 tardy bell. Please try to arrive on campus between 8:00 and 8:10 am every day.

Every moment of instruction is important- let's prioritize students' academics at Emerson!

check out our new EMERSON FAMILY DIRECTORY!

You can access the new ONLINE Family Directory at: https://emersonelementary.org/directory

Anyone who is in the directory can log in via Google or Yahoo to access. Note that anyone, not just Gmail users, can create a Google account with their existing email address to access.

Families can submit their information or updates via the "Update Your Information" link. Responses are manually reviewed by our webmaster before access is provided.

This is a new platform and a work in progress. Please email us with any questions or concerns at communications@emersonelementary.org

The Family Directory is organized by the Emerson Parent Teacher Association (PTA). The Emerson Elementary Family Directory is a tool for families to coordinate and communicate. For example, families have used the Family Directory to coordinate carpools and playdates outside of school hours.

The Family Directory is not used by Emerson Elementary School administration to contact families; School Administration communications are sent using the Remind Application
