Wednesday, March 11 – Friday, March 20!
Wednesday, March 11th is the first day of our 2026 Read-a-Thon. For ten days (March 11-20), we encourage all students to read as much as they can, while raising money for Emerson. We’re striving for full participation - meaning we hope every student will find some time to read at home!

to find your student’s page. You can forward the link to your student’s page to friends and family far and wide!
Emerson students will be celebrating the Read-a-Thon with "Relax and Read" Spirit Day next Wednesday, March 18th. On that day, students may wear pajamas and bring stuffies and their favorite books to read to school.
Our 2026 schoolwide goal is to read a combined total of 300,000 minutes and raise $10,000!
● The top three students in each grade who read the most minutes will receive a prize.
● The classroom in each grade that reads the most minutes will receive a class prize.
● If we reach our schoolwide goal of reading a total of 300,000 minutes, there will be a special schoolwide prize for everyone to enjoy

BOOK DONATIONS NEEDED
During the Read-a-Thon at Emerson, we give away a lot of used and new books at school. I need your help. If you have some books to donate, I'd really appreciate it.
I will be gratefully accepting donations between Friday, March 6th, and Thursday, March 19th!
You can drop them off at the main office or outside the Literacy Coach room, #19.

Come connect, relax, and celebrate our amazing Emerson community in a fun and family-friendly setting. Yes — kids are absolutely welcome! There will be space to gather, play, and enjoy time together with friends old and new.

March Staff Appreciation Lunch
Thank you for the March Staff Lunch, hosted by 1st Grade!
There was plenty of delicious food.
A special treat was fresh-cut flowers that staff took back to their rooms/ offices in small vases.

You can access the new ONLINE Family Directory at: https://emersonelementary.org/directory
Anyone who is in the directory can log in via Google or Yahoo to access. Note that anyone, not just Gmail users, can create a Google account with their existing email address to access.
Families can submit their information or updates via the "Update Your Information" link. Responses are manually reviewed by our webmaster before access is provided.
This is a new platform and a work in progress. Please email us with any questions or concerns at communications@emersonelementary.org
The Family Directory is organized by the Emerson Parent Teacher Association (PTA). The Emerson Elementary Family Directory is a tool for families to coordinate and communicate. For example, families have used the Family Directory to coordinate carpools and playdates outside of school hours.
The Family Directory is not used by Emerson Elementary School administration to contact families; School Administration communications are sent using the Remind Application
